I’m Rachel, an AASW Accredited Social Worker, counsellor, and coach—and I’m proudly neurodivergent.
Diagnosed with ADHD in 2022 and Autism in 2024, these discoveries transformed how I see myself. They helped me develop a deeper sense of self-compassion, reframing challenges I once saw as flaws into differences in how my brain works. These differences often go unsupported in a world built for neurotypical people, but they also hold unique strengths.
From a young age, I knew I wanted to be a social worker, but my path wasn’t easy. Navigating the challenges of undiagnosed neurodivergence, I worked hard to complete my degree, often feeling misunderstood or out of place. These experiences shaped not just my career but also my deep empathy for others facing similar struggles. I created The AuDHD Social Worker as a space to provide the kind of support, understanding, and validation I wish I’d had.
As someone with both Autism and ADHD (AuDHD), I understand how isolating and exhausting it can feel to navigate systems that weren’t designed for us. My work is rooted in the belief that you are not the problem—our systems are. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, self-diagnosed, or exploring your neurodivergence, I’m here to walk alongside you with warmth and compassion.
At The AuDHD Social Worker, my mission is to empower neurodivergent individuals to embrace their unique strengths and overcome the barriers they face. I use neuroaffirming, trauma-informed practices to create a safe, inclusive space where you can feel truly seen and heard. My approach is practical and personalised, drawing on methods like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Strengths-Based approaches, tailored to your specific needs.
You deserve to be seen, understood, and celebrated for who you are. Let’s work together to create a life that honours your authentic self and helps you thrive.
As a neurodivergent, white, cisgender woman, I acknowledge the privileges I hold and am dedicated to creating a culturally safe, gender-affirming, and inclusive space. My practice prioritises respect, humility, and support for each individual’s unique experiences and identities.
