Our Services

How are we different?

At The ADHD Social Worker, we offer personalized counselling and coaching that is both neuroaffirming and specifically tailored to the  unique needs of neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD, autism, and co-occurring AuDHD (autism + ADHD). Combining professional expertise with lived experience, we provide practical strategies and therapeutic support that work for those navigating life with these unique neurodivergent profiles.

As a neurodivergent-led service, we understand that traditional therapy often falls short for neurodivergent individuals. That’s why our approach integrates practical coaching and therapeutic counselling, offering effective, affirming support designed to meet the real-world challenges faced by adults with ADHD, autism, and AuDHD.

What sets our neurodivergent-specialised services apart is our flexibility and deep understanding of diverse needs, including:

  • Tailored Support: Flexible communication methods and session durations to suit your individual preferences and goals.
  • Ongoing Accountability: Regular check-ins between sessions to help you stay on track.
  • Reinforcement Tools: Summary sheets after each session to consolidate key takeaways.
  • Customised Resources: Research-backed tools and strategies that are personalised, practical, and neuroaffirming.
  • Lived Experience: A unique blend of professional expertise and lived neurodivergent experience to provide support that truly resonates.

Whether you’re seeking support for ADHD, autism, or navigating life with AuDHD, our services are designed to empower you in a way that feels validating, effective, and sustainable.

How our ADHD, Autism & AuDHD coaching and counselling can help:

Understanding and Managing Executive Functioning

Improving Emotional Regulation and Self-Acceptance for Adults

Improving Emotional Regulation and Self-Acceptance for Adults

Many neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD, autism, or AuDHD, face challenges such as being on time, starting tasks, and keeping track of personal belongings. These difficulties often stem from executive functioning challenges—a core aspect of neurodivergence.

At The AuDHD Social Worker, we help you understand and manage these challenges with:

  • An executive function questionnaire to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • A personalised executive function management plan to address specific challenges unique to ADHD, autism, or AuDHD.
  • Education on how executive functions impact daily life for neurodivergent individuals.
  • Neuroaffirming strategies, exercises, and practical tips for managing executive dysfunction.
  • Therapeutic interventions to address procrastination, task paralysis, and other common issues.
  • Motivational strategies to help break free from perfectionism and achieve your goals.

Improving Emotional Regulation and Self-Acceptance for Adults

Emotional regulation is an essential part of thriving as a neurodivergent individual. Understanding and supporting emotional needs can lead to greater self-acceptance and well-being.

We provide guidance on:

  • What emotional regulation looks like for adults with ADHD, autism, or AuDHD.
  • Understanding sensory needs and their impact on emotional well-being.
  • Strategies for managing mood swings, including Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD).
  • Addressing long-term effects of late-diagnosed or untreated neurodivergence.
  • Unpacking unhealthy coping strategies, low self-esteem, and self-doubt.
  • Exploring masking behaviours and practising radical self-acceptance.
  • Tools for handling burnout and overcoming imposter syndrome.

Embracing Neurodivergence: Unlearning & Relearning Strategies

Improving Emotional Regulation and Self-Acceptance for Adults

Embracing Neurodivergence: Unlearning & Relearning Strategies

Living with ADHD, autism, or AuDHD means discovering what truly works for you. For many late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults, unlearning outdated beliefs and embracing unique strengths is crucial.

We help you:

  • Embrace your neurodivergence by identifying the strategies that work best for you.
  • Integrate research on executive functions for a comprehensive understanding.
  • Conduct a sensory profile to assess and meet your sensory needs.
  • Focus on simplicity and minimise additional tasks between sessions.
  • Shift perspectives on productivity, valuing progress over perfection.
  • Challenge toxic beliefs about discipline and guilt as motivation.
  • Empower self-advocacy and promote a balanced, fulfilling life.
